Rebound with caution

What a day! Most markets in Asia rebounded today, and some bourses even gain as high as 4.8%. Indonesia also recorded an impressive traction by securing yet another Currency Swap agreement with China.

Despite this week edition of Newsweek alarmed readers on the actual depth of the US banking problem, I have a good reason to cherish.

At least, Indonesia is on the right track and will potentially be able to weather this enduring storm, whose end is not visible yet. Rupiah has strengthened somewhat this week, while the stimulus package is expected to enter the market end of the week. So, hopefully its going to be a good week – but stay alert.
