Dr. Luqyan Tamanni, economist and Certified Financial Planner

Evidence-first Islamic economics and personal finance

I’m Luqyan Tamanni, an economist and Certified Financial Planner® (CFP®) working on Islamic finance and household financial decisions in Indonesia.

Most family finance advice is either confident and unsourced, or rigorous and unreadable. This platform tries to be neither. I tackled questions that families and corporates actually face, such as how to deal with inflation, navigate geopolitical uncertainties, how the economy works, and how much debt is too much. Then I show what the research and official data say, where the evidence is weak, and where the law or shariah opinions set the boundaries.

Credibility checks

  1. Empirical claims rest on peer-reviewed journals ranked Q1 to Q3 by Scimago, cited with quartile and DOI.
  2. Legal claims rest on primary sources: statutes, regulations, regulator circulars, DSN-MUI fatwas, with effective dates.
  3. Figures come from official releases (Bank Indonesia, OJK, BPS, Ministry of Finance, World Bank), with series and release date named.
  4. Sharia positions show DSN-MUI and AAOIFI separately. My position is always in line with the official shariah body.
